Kiszla: Nolan Arenado plays like a kid who loves it

Ross D. Franklin, The Associated Press)

Sometimes, I swear there's an 8-year-old boy living inside the body of the National League's best baseball player. Like the time I walked up to Nolan Arenado in the Rockies' clubhouse, as he washed down gulps of a hard-boiled egg with swigs of Red Bull, and asked him if that was his idea of an ideal pregame meal.

"Hey, it's a great lunch," protested Arenado, staunchly defending his unique taste in food. "A little protein. A little energy. What else do you need?"

We both chuckled, which only reinforced why Arenado has become my favorite Denver athlete.
