The trade deadline came and went for the Colorado Rockies. General Manager Jeff Bridich told Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post and other reporters that there was an opportunity to sell off many of the team’s assets, but that wasn’t the direction the team wanted to go in. Rather, Bridich praised the team’s “talented core.” He’s not wrong in the sense that players like Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, German Márquez, Jon Gray and Scott Oberg resemble a strong group for which to build off.
