Freeland struggles in bid for rotation spot

"Delino continues to have great at-bats, swinging the bat well and running the bases well," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "Nap came alive today. Robinson Chirinos … two doubles, we swung the bats well."

Rockies starter Kyle Freeland, their first-round Draft pick from 2014, continued his quest for a spot in the rotation, but allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out five.

"It was one of those games where nothing came easy. I had to battle every single hitter," Freeland said. "I was around the zone with competitive pitches, but command wasn't really dialed in.
