The Colorado Rockies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 on Tuesday night. A bad inning from the bullpen and missed opportunities on offense cost them this key divisional game as Arizona continues to own Coors Field.
Is that where “ducks on the pond” comes from as a term for runners in scoring position? Like the ducks are just sitting there to be shot? That’s unpleasant. Although I live in Minnesota, so that’s not a popular position to take.
Oh, and also Iannetta and Parra just kept leaving runners on base. Twice there were two runners on for these two hitters, and twice they failed to plate a run.
