The farm went 1-3 on Tuesday with only Asheville pulling out a victory, defeating the Delmarva Shorebirds 4-1. I went on the road with Hartford to watch 7th ranked PuRP Kyle Freeland's start and caught up with some of our favorite Yard Goats.
Kyle Freeland struggled to finish off a solid start as the Hartford Yard Goats fell to the Bowie Bay Sox, 6-3. Freeland, who has been absolutely dominant so far this year, allowed a walk and a home run to start the game but settled down to retire 15 of the next 17 batters. Unfortunately, Freeland was falling behind hitters early in at-bats in his last two innings, leading to a walk and a few hard-hit balls.
