The Colorado Rockies never got anything going against Michael Wacha, and the St. Louis Cardinals relied on a two-run first inning — thanks to another Matt Carpenter home run — and a five-run seventh to run away with a 7-0 victory on Friday night at Busch Stadium.
Kyle Kendrick started the game for the Rockies, and in the first inning allowed a home run to Matt Carpenter (after Carpenter hit two home runs the previous night against the Rockies) and a sacrifice fly to Jason Heyward.
