Sean St. Ledger, Michael Azira added to Colorado Rapids roster

The Colorado Rapids announced on Wednesday that Sean St. Ledger will return for the 2016 season after agreeing to a new contract.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Last season, St. Ledger earned $147, 492.

Last week, the Rapids declined St. Ledger's option for 2016, but said a new offer had been extended to the Ireland international.

St. Ledger, who turns 31 this month, was acquired by the Rapids during the summer transfer window after being released by Orlando City Soccer Club for a "serious breach of team policy."

The centerback quickly became a mainstay along the Rapids' backline, logging 1,048 minutes in 12 starts, adding two assists.
