PHOTO JOURNAL: KORTNE FORD'S OFFSEASON WORKOUT

During the offseason, Homegrown defender Kortne Ford trains with Chad Kolarcik, the Head of Sports Science for the Rapids. The two will train three times a week at ‘The Eddy’, the Rapids Youth Soccer Club’s indoor facility. During those sessions Ford primarily works on strength and power, linear and multidirectional speed, foundational athletic movement quality and general conditioning. Since it is early in the offseason, the defender is focusing on overall athleticism. As he gets closer to preseason, he will start transitioning to more soccer specific translation of these foundational qualities.
