Lindsey Horan has been voted the 2021 BioSteel U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year after a sparkling season with the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) and Portland Thorns FC, the national team announced Thursday.
The Golden, Colorado native and product of the Colorado Rush Youth Soccer Club is the 18th different Women’s National Team player to win the honor. It is Horan’s first time as a recipient of the accolade.
This year fans were able to vote for the U.S. Soccer Players of the Year. Votes for Horan’s award were also collected from respective national team coaches, national team players who earned a cap in 2021, members of the U.
