Jenny Simpson, Emma Coburn teaming with two other U.S. track stars Saturday in attempt to break world record in distance medley relay

A pair of Colorado Olympians who made history at the Rio Olympics last summer will team with two other American track stars Saturday in an attempt to break the indoor world record in the distance medley relay.

Former University of Colorado runners Jenny Simpson and Emma Coburn, both of whom became the first American women to win medals in their respective events last August, will be joined by teen sensation Sydney McLaughlin and world championships medalist Brenda Martinez hoping to break the DMR record at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meet in Boston. Coburn took bronze in the steeplechase in Rio.
