CU Buffs' upset bid against Oregon falls short

BOULDER — Moments after Saturday dissolved into Sunday morning, the Colorado Buffaloes were in a position to knock off Oregon, claim their first conference win in 23 months and give further credence to the argument that the program is turning the corner after years of futility.

But the CU defense looked futile on Oregon's next possession and Oregon (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12) looked like, well, Oregon.

After CU quarterback Sefo Liufau scored on a 7-yard keeper at 12:02 a.m. that made it a 31-24 game with 10:29 left, the Ducks needed only six plays to go 75 yards for a backbreaking 38-24 lead.
