Morning Flurries: Afternoon games and prospect success

The Colorado Avalanche raised some eyebrows when forward Brandon Saigeon, who was immediately AHL-eligible after being drafted by the team this summer, was sent back to the OHL following his time at training camp.

The move certainly reeked of asset mismanagement, given that draft selections immediately eligible for pro play in the minors are somewhat rare - especially for North American players.

Luckily, Saigeon isn’t being squandered back in the major juniors. He’s already getting back on the scoresheet for the Hamilton Bulldogs, and looks to be picking up where he left off:
