Colorado Avalanche gets back to work, prepares for Boston Bruins

After a day off, the Avalanche practiced Monday as its next opponent, the Boston Bruins, were playing their annual Columbus Day matinee in Boston.

The Bruins visit the Avs on Wednesday to conclude Colorado's three-game homestand to begin the season.

The Avalanche (1-1) begins a two-game California road trip at Anaheim on Friday.

Forward Alex Tanguay, who will be 36 next month, was the only Avalanche not skating Monday, but likely because of a scheduled maintenance day. On defense, the final two blue-line pairings were slightly modified, with Brad Stuart playing with Nick Holden and Nate Guenin with Brandon Gormley.
