The Colorado Avalanche officially turned the page from the Patrick Roy era today as new head coach Jared Bednar was officially announced early this afternoon.
In a conference call introducing Bednar to both local and non-local media, Avs General Manager Joe Sakic and the new head coach fielded a few questions regarding the announcement.
“Obviously, I like Jared’s track record. He won an East Coast Championship, just won a Calder Cup,” Sakic stated on his decision. “I know from talking to a lot of different people that he is a very demanding coach, but fair to the players.
