As a result, the Avalanche veteran defenseman will miss his ninth consecutive game Friday night against the St. Louis Blues and postpone his return to the lineup until Saturday night at Dallas against the Stars.
"I talked with (Patrick Roy) and the training staff and just decided that coming (back) on a back-to-back wouldn't be the smartest thing, to play two games in a row right off the hop, as much as I wanted to play tonight," Johnson said after the Friday morning skate.
