Avalanche Roundtable: Does Bednar’s hiring improve Colorado’s playoff chances?

Cole: I’m a bit surprised to see Bednar leave Cleveland because with only John Tortorella ahead of him I imagined he would be the heir to the throne in Columbus but here we are. Bednar was relatively high on my list of potential candidates for the Avs’ coaching job. Put simply, he has an excellent resume, a track record of success, is a progressive thinker strategically, and is coming off a career high as he and new Avalanche assistant coach Nolan Pratt coached the Lake Erie Monsters to a Calder Cup Championship in the AHL.

From that perspective, there is very little to fault about this hiring.
