New York Yankees reportedly close to trading Aroldis Chapman; Cleveland Indians mum

BALTIMORE – The Yankees are reportedly close to trading closer Aroldis Chapman. The Indians are one of the teams that has expressed interest, but it's unclear if they're the team the Yankees are dealing with.

Washington, San Francisco and the Cubs are also reportedly interested. A Yankee scout followed the Indians on the first two legs of this three-city trip.

Chris Antonetti, Indians president of baseball operations, would not comment when asked if he was close to getting the hard-throwing left-hander.

"I will remain consistent now and through the deadline period of not confirming or denying reports on specific players," Antonetti said in a text.
