Indians notebook: Top third of lineup clicking; Carlos Carrasco placed on DL

CLEVELAND: The Indians’ lineup has often left much to be desired this season.

In Tuesday night’s 11-6 win against Milwaukee, though, the team got a glimpse of how it looks when the top three — Jason Kipnis, Francisco Lindor and Michael Brantley — all swing the bat well at the same time.

That trio, making up the 1-2-3 hitters in manager Terry Francona’s everyday lineup, collected nine hits (three each), drove in nine runs and scored seven.

The Indians have had a litany of offensive issues this season, but this was a brief glimpse into the potential at the top.
