Akron RubberDucks take second straight from Erie

AKRON, Ohio -- Joe Sever had two RBI as the RubberDucks built a 6-2 lead Wednesday then held on to defeat the Erie SeaWolves, 6-5, at Canal Park.

RubberDucks left-hander Matt Whitehouse (4-3, 3.63 ERA) got his third straight victory, giving up four runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings, striking out six.

The RubberDucks fell behind, 1-0, in the first, but Mike Papi, who had two hits, tied it with a solo shot in the bottom of the inning.

Akron entered the fourth trailing, 2-1, when Sever tied it with a sacrifice fly.
