Indians 12, Rangers 3: Carlos Carrasco’s strong outing, 8-run third inning fuel rout

CLEVELAND: The Indians put together an eight-run inning and received a strong outing from Carlos Carrasco to cruise past the Texas Rangers 12-3 Wednesday at Progressive Field.

The Indians entered the third inning already leading 2-0 and blew the game wide open against Rangers starter Colby Lewis (4-3). Seven hits, two walks and a three-run home run by Carlos Santana later, and the Indians (21-25) had torched Lewis for eight more runs.

“Anytime you put up eight, that makes for a good day,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “That was good. Everybody swung the bat.
