Baseball in June: Old memories from a slugger, a new face on a bad team and a whole lot of strikeouts

The month of June belonged to a slugger remaining us of his former greatness, an unexpected offensive surge from a rookie and multiple historic pitching performances.

It’s been a while since Albert Pujols was The Machine, as he was in St. Louis. The last couple of years, he’s mostly be associated with having one of the worst contracts in baseball, along with former teammate Josh Hamilton.

We finally saw the Pujols of old in June, and what a sight it was. He slugged 13 home runs in June, and it was actually 13 home runs in a 22-game span.
