Steve Delabar suspended 80 games following failed PED test

Steve Delabar, who went from substitute teacher to All-Star pitcher in a matter of a few years, has been suspended 80 games for violating the league’s Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

As one of three minor league’s suspended today, Delabar, 33, tested positive for Ostarine (also known as Enobosarm), a type of Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM) commonly used to treat osteoporosis that is also used by athletes to increase stamina.

Delabar was signed to a minor league deal this offseason, but he has yet to pitch for the Triple-A Columbus Clippers, where he as assigned after spring training.
