News and Notes - Cleveland Defeated in Lopsided Shutout

The Boston Red Sox blanked the Cleveland Guardians for the 2nd Wednesday in a row.

Carlos Carrasco made his 200th career start in a Cleveland uniform last night. Unfortunately for the beloved right-handed pitcher, this start did not go well. Cookie gave the team 5 innings but gave up 9 hits, 5 runs (3 of which were homers), and 1 walk with only 4 strikeouts. Tyler Beede would take over in the 6th inning going 1 inning, 2 hits, 1 run, and 2 strikeouts. Cleveland fans would get their first look at recent acquisition Pedro Avila who went 3 innings with 5 hits, 2 runs, and 2 strikeouts.
