In the pre-game open thread for Tuesday’s contest, I suggested the White Sox may be facing the Wrath of Kluber since he was coming off his worst start of the season. For the first five innings, that prediction held true. And for another three innings, Klu-bot was effective enough to nail down a 5-3 victory for the Tribe and notch his best-ever 19th win in a single year.
During the first five frames, a beard-less Kluber was razor sharp — scattering only three hits, giving up no runs and striking out seven.
