Cavaliers pick up option on Timofey Mozgov’s contract; Larry Nance Jr. drafted by Globetrotters

The Cavaliers picked up the option on Timofey Mozgov’s contract for next season, the team announced Tuesday. It was all a mere formality. There was never a doubt the Cavs would pick up the option year, worth just $4.9 million on one of the team-friendliest deals in the league.

The Cavs surrendered two first-round picks to acquire Mozgov from the Denver Nuggets in January. They revamped their defense after his arrival and carried that defensive mentality all the way to the NBA Finals.
