Cavaliers miss on Jimmy Butler and trading into NBA Draft

CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers didn't land a roster-changing All-Star or a new front-office chief on draft night.

Nor did they make a draft pick.

Really, Thursday was the quietest day of the week so far for the Cavs, who tried to land Paul George or Jimmy Butler in trades for Kevin Love in time for the draft.

Meanwhile, owner Dan Gilbert is still in discussions with Chauncey Billups to take over a front office left by the departure earlier this week of David Griffin.

The Cavs entered Thursday's draft without a pick and did not invite any players to Cleveland for pre-draft workouts.
