REPORT: Cleveland Cavs targeting Joel Embiid as #1 pick in draft

There have been a multitude of reports in the past few weeks suggesting that the Cleveland Cavs could trade their first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft if the right offer were to come across the table.

However, per Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, the Cavs are giving every indication that they are going to hold on to their first pick in order to select former Kansas center Joel Embiid:

Many draft analysts have questioned whether back issues that plagued Embiid during his time at Kansas would cause him to slide down teams' boards with draft day approaching.

Yet, after a couple of meetings with the seven-foot phenom, the Cleveland Cavs apparently see nothing in the way of warning signs that would cause them to hesitate in picking him.

In fact, from the looks of the Cavaliers' pre-draft process, Embiid has seemed to be their choice ever since they beat the odds to win the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery.
