Instant Reaction: Mike Miller Powers Cavs Past Nets 95-91

Brooklyn got out to a fast start, but Cleveland responded with a big second quarter to take a 53-49  lead into halftime. Both sides went back and forth in the second half, but the Cavaliers gradually pulled away in the 4th quarter to grab the win.

Turning Point:

In the middle of the fourth quarter, the Cavs went on two separate mini-runs (7-2 run from 8:26 left to 6:20; 7-3 run from 4:37 to 2:23) which helped them create a small cushion in what was a close game throughout.

Key Stat:

Cleveland's 'Big 3' of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love all had bad games, shooting a combined 14/46 from the field.  The Cavs still managed to win in spite of that, thanks to a spectacular performance from Mike Miller.

This is a big step forward for this team, as they have had to rely on their superstars to carry them at all times so far this season. This game should give everyone confidence that they can win even when their best players aren't playing well - something championship teams do.

Cleveland MVP:

The story of this game was Miller, who was inserted into the starting lineup in his first game back after missing the last seven games with a concussion. He had his best performance of the season, finishing with 21 points, thanks to scorching hot shooting from behind the three-point line (7/8). He gave the Cavs the spark they needed to win this game.

LeBron also finished with 22 points and nine assists.

Brooklyn MVP:

Joe Johnson was the only Nets player that really played well tonight, finishing with 26 points on 10/17 shooting.
