Marla Ridenour: Josh McCown rewards Browns for wise decision, puts aside personal redemption for city’s, teammates’ joy

BALTIMORE: Left tackle Joe Thomas was flush with the glow of a victory that could be the turning point of the Browns’ season and he couldn’t resist a joke.

Asked about quarterback Josh McCown’s record-setting performance Sunday in a 33-30 overtime triumph over the Baltimore Ravens, Thomas cracked, “Put in Johnny.”

The perennial Pro Bowler had just beaten Baltimore for the fourth time in his nine-year career. The game was decided by the same score as his last triumph in Baltimore eight years ago, 33-30 in overtime, with Travis Coons hitting a 32-yard field goal with 6:43 remaining.
