BEREA: Coach Hue Jackson isn’t ready to name a starting quarterback for Sunday, but all signs are pointing to veteran quarterback Josh McCown stepping back into the lead role for the Browns (0-7) when they host the New York Jets (2-5).
For one, McCown has been medically cleared to play for the first time since he suffered a fractured left collarbone Sept. 18 in a 25-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Jackson said.
McCown practiced the past two weeks on a limited basis, but he fully participated Wednesday.
“It is a step in the right direction,” McCown said.
