Browns News: San Diego Padres pick Johnny Manziel in 2014 MLB Draft

In today's Browns news update, the San Diego Padres have drafted a familiar name with their pick in the 28th round of the 2014 MLB Draft - new Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, "it’s likely little more than a publicity stunt, which eventually could prompt a Russell Wilson-style visit to spring training and other notoriety, including the fact that the name “San Diego Padres” is getting national attention at a time when the team otherwise would get none."

There is always the slightest of slight chances that Manziel could spurn the NFL for baseball, seeing that he hasn't signed an official contract with the Cleveland Browns as of yet.

Johnny Manziel, however, doesn't see interested at all in being the next Bo Jackson. He's more focused on making the transition from Johnny Football to Johnny Cleveland.

However, he can definitely use Johnny Baseball once in awhile after today's draft.
