Running game appears to be stronger

Clemson running back Wayne Gallman rushed for 112 yards and scored a touchdown in this past Wednesday’s scrimmage in Death Valley.

Gallman was part of a Clemson running game that combined for 251 yards on 32 carries in the scrimmage or 7.84 yards per carry.

Last year, the Tigers averaged 223.0 yards per game and 4.9 yards per carry as a team.

“The running backs ran well today. Wayne Gallman was excellent,” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said after the scrimmage. “Tyshon Dye had a couple of tough runs. I saw him finish some runs and that was good to see.
