Overcoming adversity: Offense does enough to win

LOUISVILLE, KY – Tony Elliott told his offense that there would be adversity during Thursday’s game at Louisville and that the proof of what kind of program the Tigers have would be in how they handled that adversity.

The Tigers lost right tackle Joe Gore and backup Jake Fruhmorgen early in the game, saw quarterback Deshaun miss a few easy throws and throw two interceptions and Clemson was just 5-of-14 on third down conversions.

However, Watson responded with two big touchdown throws, running back Wayne Gallman rushed 24 times for 139 yards and the Tigers left Louisville 20-17 winners.
