CHARLOTTE, N.C. — At one point Florida State running back Dalvin Cook was committed to play football at Clemson. That’s right, Clemson.
“Coach (Tony) Elliott, Coach (Dabo) Swinney, Coach (Brent) Venables, they are all good guys,” Cook said on Friday at the ACC Football Kickoff at the Westin in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. “That is a good coaching staff, great coaching staff. They have a good program over there.”
Swinney and his staff very much wanted Cook to be a Tiger, but that was not in the cards.
“They recruited me hard, but I just took my talents to Tallahassee,” Cook said.
