5-star Clemson pledge Johnson named Indiana's Mr. Football

Clemson commitment Hunter Johnson was named the 2016 IndyStar Indiana Mr. Football winner on Wednesday. The five-star quarterback from Brownsburg, Ind., beat out Cathedral four-star linebacker Pete Werner and Center Grove three-star running back and Louisville commit Russ Yeast for the award.

Johnson threw for 2,233 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior this season while rushing for 525 yards and three touchdowns as he led his team to an 8-2 record. He was recently named to play in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will take place on Jan. 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
