Mitchell to Clemson

Brad Brownell scooped up a commitment from Vanderbilt transfer Shelton Mitchell on Sunday morning

Mitchell, a 6-3 point guard with three years of eligibility remaining, committed to Clemson while in town for a weekend visit. He confirmed the news to TheClemsonInsider shortly after he left campus.

“I just felt comfortable with the staff and felt like I could be successful there,” Mitchell said.

As a senior at Oak Hill Academy, Mitchell was ranked by Scout.com as the No. 75 overall player in the class of 2014. Mitchell originally signed with Wake Forest, but after Jeff Bzdelik was fired he was released from his letter-of-intent.
