Clemson NFL Draft Breakdown

DeAndre Hopkins, 1st round-Houston Texans: Hopkins going to Houston seems like the perfect fit for him and the Texans. They needed someone to take pressure off of Andre Johnson and Nuk fills that roll perfectly. He should get the opportunity to be the number 2 receiver and get plenty of throws his way. Hopkins could be in the mix for NFL Rookie of the Year. Expect Nuk to have at least have 750 yards receiving and depending on how much Houston throws the ball that number could be easiliy higher.

Malliciah Goodman, 4th round-Atlanta Falcons: Goodman should fit in nicely with the Falcons. They were in desperate need of a defensive end and if he does well in preseason camps he could get a starting roll. He'll need to become betters a run stopper but with his measurables he could develop nicely. He also should feel very comfortable in the Georgia Dome after having a huge performance in the Chic-Fil-A Bowl.

Jonathon Meeks, round 5-Buffalo Bills: Meeks was the surprise draft pick of the eligible Clemson players. Most thought he would go undrafted but the Bills liked him enough to pick him in round 5. The Bills have Jarius Byrd, who they put the franchise tag, on as a starter. They also drafted another safety ahead of Meeks. He will likely need to play special teams and be ready should an injury occur. Maybe by the end of the season he could compete for playing time.

Andre Ellington, round 6-Arizona Cardinals: Ellington slipped to the 6th round after 16 other running backs had been chosen. Ellington suffered a hamstring injury at the Senior Bowl and again at the NFL Combine that likely scared teams away drafting him. Arizona has 3 other running backs Ellington will have to compete with for playing time in newly signed Rashard Mendenhall, Ryan Williams, and 5th round draft choice Stephon Taylor out of Stanford. Ellington will likely need to compete for a kick/punt return roll if he wants to make an impact early. Running backs get beat up so even if he winds up be the 4th back he's just an injury or 2 away from substantial playing time.
