ANAHEIM — On a day the Cincinnati Reds got bad news about injured pitcher Nick Lodolo, they got encouraging news about second baseman Jonathan India, who has been cleared to start running again Wednesday after his ailing left foot was examined again Tuesday.
The team had him scheduled for a checkup Thursday, but India’s agency had the foot examined Tuesday morning by a special, who reported good progress in the plantar fascia area.

“Great progress,” said India, who reiterated what he said early last week after being shut down from running – that he has no pain in the foot.
