There have been a few bright spots here and there, but on the whole this is a staff has been hit hard and often in baseball's opening month. A simple glance at pitching statistics around the league make this point abundantly clear.

Through April, Cincinnati led the league in home runs allowed with 43. This actually broke the franchise record of 41 set in 2003 and 2006.
