Starting pitcher John Lamb had disc surgery in December that will put him behind schedule, possibly mid-April.

Lamb was part of the Johnny Cueto trade with Kansas City. In 10 starts for the Reds last year, he had an impressive 26.4 percent strikeout rate (would have been 11th best among all major league pitchers) and 3.56 SIERA.
