As soon as Reds outfielder Phillip Ervin saw San Diego Padres pitcher Rowan Wick begin his delivery, he angled his bat to bunt. Mason Williams, the runner on third, started his sprint to the plate.

It’s one of the most daring plays in baseball and the Reds made it look routine Saturday.

Ervin dropped a successful suicide squeeze bunt to the right side of the pitcher’s mound and the Reds added to their one-run lead in an eventual 12-6 victory.
