GOODYEAR, Ariz. – With his teammates away from the Reds’ complex on their off-day Tuesday, Sonny Gray moved a step closer to pitching in spring training games.
Gray threw 26 pitches in a live batting practice session to four minor league hitters, which was the next step in his progression after he started throwing off a mound earlier this week. Gray was briefly sidelined this spring with stiffness in his right elbow.
“I felt good,” Gray said.
