Cincinnati Reds: Zack Cozart, J.J. Hoover File for Arbitration

As expected, Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart and right-handed reliever J.J. Hoover have filed for salary arbitration. The team is one of two — the other being the San Francisco Giants — to have only two players file.

Cozart, coming off what looked to be a career season before it was cut short by a brutal right knee injury, made $2.35 million through the arbitration process last year. This year, the 30-year-old being projected by Matt Swartz of MLB Trade Rumors to be given $2.9 million. Following the 2016 season, he’ll have one more year of arbitration before becoming a free agent.
