PHOENIX — Spencer Steer wasn’t going to do it when his brother first reached out to ask him.
“Then David found out about it in between games of the doubleheader, and he called me into his office,” the Cincinnati Reds rookie said of manager David Bell. “He’s like, ‘Do it. You’re gonna want to do it. You don’t get these opportunities very often.’ ”
So before the second game of Wednesday’s doubleheader in Anaheim, Connor Steer — who works in ticket sales for the Los Angeles Angels — threw out the ceremonial first pitch to his brother, Spencer.
