The Bengals stun everyone but themselves today when they use their third-round draft pick on a small school quarterback that will turn out to be one of the biggest things in franchise history. The Bengals’ improbable 1970 AFC Central championship is barely a month old but head coach Paul Brown knows he’s done it without an established quarterback. And with 1969 AFL Rookie of the Year Greg Cook’s shoulder still a question mark after forcing him to sit out the entire season, the Bengals again turn to the draft.
