Bengals' Andrew Whitworth still in concussion protocol, but outlook promising

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth is still in the concussion protocol after leaving Sunday's game early with a head injury, according to coach Marvin Lewis.

Lewis said he expects Whitworth to be out of the protocol by Thursday, which is when the team leaves for its trip to London to face the Washington Redskins.

Whitworth, 34, has not missed a game since the 2013 season and is the best offensive lineman they have. Losing him would be a heavy blow for a struggling unit, which particularly has had a hard time on the right side, where the Bengals have been trying to groom right tackle Cedric Ogbuehi.
