David Niehuas has traveled the long road from walk-on to scholarship player, and the Colerain High School graduate now is the anchor of the University of Cincinnati football team's offensive line.
Fifth-year senior Niehaus will be the starting center for the 2017 Bearcats, after arriving in 2013 as just another hopeful face in the crowd. Playing before his hometown family is an added bonus.
“It’s a really cool experience because you can just turn around, look in the stands and they’re there,” Niehaus said. “They don’t have to travel hours away just to see you play.
