The next lineman on our farewell tour to Cincinnati Bearcats seniors is the massive left tackle Eric Lefeld.
Like Cory Keebler, Lefeld came to UC not as the 6’6″ 310 lbs lineman we know but as a lanky 230 lbs high schooler. He played defensive end for the Coldwater Cavaliers but UC’s coaches saw a future star in him. Not unexpectedly, Lefeld redshirted his freshman year, the first under Butch Jones. It’s interesting how the two coincided at the same time at Cincinnati. Lefeld was looking to add bulk and lo and behold Jones implemented a state of the art nutrition regiment in the program.
