CLEVELAND — While the whole baseball world watches Kyle Schwarber in amazement, David Ross says his favorite player is the man currently holding down Schwarber’s normal position in left field.
“Ben Zobrist is becoming my favorite baseball player,” Ross said after the Cubs’ 5-1 win over the Cleveland Indians in Game 2 of the World Series. “Ben is just so humble and asked to do so many things throughout the season. Played second base for most of the year and now hasn’t spent a single day at second base in the postseason. Moved around the lineup for us, protects our young bucks.
