The Cubs acquired righthander Tyson Miller from the Mariners late Monday night for Jake Slaughter, and I thank Josh for posting this trade article while I was asleep.
To make room on the 40-man roster, as well as the 26-man active roster, lefthander Richard Lovelady has been designated for assignment.
Miller has made nine relief appearances for the Mariners this season, posting a 3.09 ERA (four earned runs in 11u2154 innings). He has 12 strikeouts compared to just one walk. He joined the Mariners organization signing as a minor league free agent on Nov. 11, 2023 and was added to the 40-man roster on April 8.
